Red Sentinel Astilbe has masses of beautiful plumes of red flowers at the ends of the stems in mid summer, which are most effective when planted in groupings. The flowers are excellent for cutting. Its ferny compound leaves emerge coppery-bronze in spring, turning dark green in color throughout the season. The fruit is not ornamentally significant.
